Auras are the physical manifestation of the electric field surrounding each and
every living thing. That is what causes shocks when touching something metal.
It's considered a graphic representation of the human soul (not the soul, but an
indicator of it). It is like an external directional signal indicating the
spiritual essence of the person wearing it. Some individuals have the ability
to see these Auras, which have different colors, depending on the person.
White:
A lot of energy being sensed. Spiritual, higher-self connected,
also connected to the spiritual world. Can create aloofness and separative
energies because it keeps out other colors. Can also be used as protection.
Red:
Physical Energy; physically-based personality or sensuality.
The emotions can range from the fire of raging passion and anger to
the soft warmth of love and effection. Harsh Reds (such as crimson) tend
to indicate emotionally charged physical animation, usually anger and
perhaps some hatred. Warm Reds, sensuous, or physically charged and healthy.
Can also "feel" the energy projected from a Red Aura.
Orange:
Friendly, open, up-beat, and approachable. Orange is
the color of vitality, vigor, good health, and sexual excitement. A burnt
Orange can show tiredness (usually around the fringes of a dull Orange).
Yellow:
Intellectual, thinking, working faculties. Yellow shows
creativity and inspiration at work or a readiness to be creative.
Green:
Healthy, balanced, calming, charming, sensualness, and
sensibilty. Green is the color of growth and change, indicates the
cycles of Mother Nature. An emerald Green shows completeness of an endeavor.
Blue:
Intellectual, calm, reserved, cool, pleasant, convinced;
sometimes an integrated personality exuding charisma. Blue provides
sensitivity and yet it can make the best of barriers against warmer
energies. Can represent peace and spirituality.
Violet:
Spiritual, sensitive, focused but not necessarily in reality.
High vibration, tuning into Master Teacher's energy. Can be used to
raise the consciousness/vibrations of the energy around it. Violet
is associated to the feminine principle.
Purple:
It is a combination of Blue and Red, a combination of wisdom
and understanding. Shows sensitivity to a particular situation. Can
move "into" other colors and bring out information connected with it.
Shows true psychic abilities.
Pink:
Physical energy being diffused, hence it is a calming color.
Lime Green:
Not a prevalent color, shows unbalanced; usually stress-related.
Brown:
Need to work with this color to get a feel for it. Could be
warm rich and well integrated person, or one who is unhealthy, or
just to much going on (different types of stress).
Black:
Nothing getting out, shielding or hiding. Hides feelings from
others and creates privacy. Draws light to it, total absorption. Feeling
tired? Feel the world sucking around one? Or is it like a flat black,
a scintillation of one's own energy being diffused out? In other words,
is there a metallic tint? If feeling drained, it could be a "psychic vampire".
Otherwise, it may be someone who is very skilled who doesn't want to be noticed,
scanned or bothered. Usually the colors when viewed with these individual's
tend to be more metallic. Many people misinterpret these also.
Silver:
Reveals an awakening of consciousness to the Universal Laws.
Also shows abundance and money.
Gold:
Gold is the color of the Higher Self. The right use of
this energy can give protection from negativity. Tuning into a
Master Teacher's energy, associated with the masculine principle.
Attractive to others, can provide great healings and wonderful
outcomes to goals. Can be used to raise the consciousness.
Mixed Shades:
(like mixed Reds) Mixed emotion. Stability should be
questioned. Generally not based in reality.
A friend just told me her favorite color right now is yellow. She had purchased yellow towels and would just look at them and feel joy. Do you know what that feeling is like? Are you color sensitive in that way? I knew for her this meant a movement into a deeper layer of acceptance of her own power. Yellow love could be read like the casting of Tarot cards. Personally, I love to knit simple scarves and it is for the joy of the color and texture. The process of knitting a few rows and stopping and looking at the color (usually a multi-color soft yarn) is deeply satisfying to my soul.
Noticing the colors you are drawn to, as well as the colors you dislike intensely can give you clues to the areas of your Aura (personal energy field) that are open or in process of healing. Some psychics see and describe people by the general color or feel of their Aura. A person who is mostly blue is often nurturing. A strongly yellow field might indicate social tendencies. An overall red tone is pure life force and sexuality and perhaps a tendency toward anger, depending on the shade (Astrology buffs are hearing Mars on this one!) Yet our Auras are richly layered with many colors and each Chakra can be various shades as well.
People who have done many years of meditation or spiritual purification might have a large, clear and white-toned Aura. This leads to the assumption that one can bring in white light for healing. Although white light can be a good protective energy, often the Aura doesn't seem to hold the white well. It's as if our field is like a cloth dyed or stained black. We must bleach the cloth first (purification) and then dye it a new color. Putting white dye over black isn't possible. Remembering that white is actually a spectrum of all the colors we find that working patiently with various colors in meditation gives each part of us the healing needed and ultimately over time the Aura becomes whiter and clearer. Simply check in with yourself and use your intuition to tell you what colors you need to use each day. You are probably already doing that naturally if you notice there are certain days when you only wish to wear certain colors. In meditation you will be clearly drawn to ideal colors for your healing. In the larger sense, you have chosen the colors you prefer in your home decor, your car and your wardrobe. Do you still love those tones? Do they reflect your essence and cause you to feel healed in day to day life?
Here is just a simple, quick guide to colors, although there can be many more meanings, and some meanings might be individual for you. White, gold, purple, lavender, violet and indigo are all good colors for the upper Chakras, especially the 6th and 7th, the psychic and channeling/spiritual connections. Light and clear shades of blue or turquoise are healing for the throat Chakra, the place of communication and expression. The heart can resonate with pink (self-love) or green (love in general, and also a great color for new growth and new starts). Yellow is the color of the power Chakra in the solar plexus area, orange or peach is ideal for the 2nd or emotional Chakra just below the naval, and red is the healing color for the first or root Chakra. The lower Chakra colors are often energizing while the upper Chakra colors are more relaxing and peaceful. You can visualize any of these colors streaming into your Aura as you feel drawn to them.
Listening to your intuition about color is an easy way to harmonize your external environment with your internal mood, an intention to live in the moment.
